The verb to stop is either parar or detener . To tell someone to stop (imperative) tú para , tú no pares ; y usted pare , usted no pare . To stop doing something, I’ve heard detener used. The imperative is: tú detén , tú no detengas ; y usted detenga , usted no detenga . To tell your grandchild to stop it: Aureliano, detenlo ahora . Don’t forget, with the imperative, you can hook the pronoun at the end and make it one word. Church = La iglesia Capilla - chap
